Product detailed description

Pool Specialist Opinion - Review

  • + Accurate water hardness measurement
  • Easy conversion to mmol/l
  • Contains everything needed for 100 determinations
  • Provides detailed technical information and instructions for use
  • Requires careful adherence to measurement procedure

"The DUKE T drop tester is ideal for accurate and reliable measurement of pool water hardness. With its help, you can easily ensure optimal conditions for pool chemicals and prevent limescale formation.

How do I measure with this tester?
five drops T1, five drops T2.
Then I drip T3 and count how many drops before it turns color, that's the hardness in German degrees. 20 drops is the limit above which I would reduce the hardness.

Accurate determination of pool water hardness

The DUKE T drop tester provides accurate pool water hardness measurement results. It uses dropwise titration with 1°N increments and allows easy conversion to mmol/l.

Everything you need in one package

The tester comes in a handy plastic blister pack and contains everything needed for up to 100 determinations: reagents T1, T2 and T3, crucibles and instructions for use.

Easy to use with detailed instructions

The drop tester is simple to use, with detailed instructions and technical information included to help you achieve accurate results.

Optimal pool water maintenance

By regularly measuring and adjusting the water hardness, you will ensure optimal conditions for the effectiveness of your pool chemistry and prevent scale build-up.

Recognising the different degrees of water hardness

You measure the water hardness between 2 and 50°N, making it easy to recognise whether your water is soft, hard or very hard and adjust your pool maintenance accordingly.

Supporting a healthy swimming environment

By regularly measuring and adjusting the water hardness, you promote a healthy swimming environment, thereby increasing the comfort and safety of pool users.

A wide range of applications for different water types

The tester is suitable for both surface water and groundwater, thanks to its wide measuring range and easy conversion to different units.

It allows approximately 100 hardness determinations (the actual number depends on the size).

For optimum pool water maintenance, it is necessary to measure the hardness of the water and, in the case of a large value, to adjust it to the range in which the effectiveness of the pool chemistry products will be best. High water hardness also results in the formation of a layer of limescale (precipitated carbonate and calcium sulphate) on the pool walls and, in extreme cases, overgrowth of the circulation circuit pipes.

The tester is supplied in a plastic blister pack and contains reagents, crucibles, instructions for use and technical information.

Hardness determination:

    .
  • Performance: dropwise titration in 1°N increments
  • Reagents: T1 (120 determinations) and T2 (120 determinations) and T3 (600 drops)

The hardness of surface water and groundwater typically ranges from 2 to 50°N.

We distinguish between soft water (up to 8°N), hard water (up to 25°N) and very hard water (above 25°N). These numerical interfaces are not fixed, there may be more than one, and the verbal designations may be e.g. 'very soft' water, 'medium hard' water, etc.

Water

Surface water is usually soft, groundwater is more likely to be hard.

For drinking water, Decree No 252/2004 Coll. states a recommended hardness value of 2 - 3.5 mmol/l (i.e. 11 - 20°N) and the same range can be considered optimal for swimming pools.
