Powerful and durable counter-current pump

The CONTRA 4 pump, sized for countercurrents, water attractions and gargoyles, is equipped with a hair pre-filter and offers an excellent performance of 84 m3/hr. The pump body made of glass fibre reinforced polypropylene and AISI 316 stainless steel components ensure long life and corrosion resistance.

Installation and maintenance

The installation of the CONTRA 4 pump is easy and trouble-free. The pump must be mounted on a solid and smooth surface using the two mounting holes in the pump leg. It is important to protect the pump from flooding and frost, and in outdoor installations also from rain.

Safety instructions and winterization

To work safely and efficiently, it is important to follow the installation and maintenance instructions. It is recommended to store the pump in a dry area after the end of the season to prolong its life. If necessary, the pump can be removed without draining the entire pipeline due to the location of the shut-off valves on the suction and pressure sides.

When installing a CONTRA pool pump you could use:

You can connect the pump to the pool circuit using, for example, 75mm tubing. We recommend that you also insert a 75mm pool ball valve before and after the pump, especially if the pump is below the pool level. This will prevent the entire pool from leaking when handling the pump. Use pvc pool joint adhesive

to adhere.

Installation:

The pump must be mounted on a solid and smooth surface.The pump must be properly
fixed using the two attachment holes in the pump leg using two suitable
screws or threaded bolts to prevent noise and oscillation that can
interfere with the pump's operation.</p

The pump should be protected from possible flooding, proper ventilation should be ensured and
freeze should be avoided.If the pump is installed outdoors, it should
be protected from rain.

It is recommended to have closing valves on both the suction and pressure sides, so that the pump can be removed if necessary without draining the entire pipeline.</p

The suction pipe must be at least the same diameter as the pump inlet. On the pressure side, it is
recommended to connect a pipe of the same diameter as the pump outlet.
The suction pipe must be laid with a slight incline to the pump to prevent the formation of
air cushions.

After winterizing the pool it is recommended to put the pump in a dry area with a constant temperature (garage, etc.), this will extend the life of the pump, it will not rust as in a wet sump by the pool when it is cold in autumn and freezing in winter.
